Introduction
Irritation in the diaper area usually appears during the first year of babies’ lives and affects up to 60% of them*.
Redness in the diaper area occurs under certain circumstances: diapers rubbing against the skin, changing the brand of diapers, too harsh cleansing routine, a change in diet, diarrhoea, an infectious episode, teething, taking medication, etc.
This problem is generally benign and must be treated at an early stage by suitable dermo-cosmetic products. This will prevent it evolving into more severe lesions, which then require medical care.
