Our aim: to reach carbon neutrality (zero emissions) by 2030

In December 2019, during the UN Climate Change Conference, together with 500 other B Corp certified companies, we committed to achieve carbon neutrality by 2030 – twenty years ahead of the 2050 date set by the Paris Agreement.

This means that we will transform our sourcing and manufacturing processes to be even closer to our customers and will function with a circular approach to the life of our products and their packaging.

Sourcing

Responsible sourcing

Responsable Sourcing

By sourcing from responsible plant growers* our objective is to enhance the traceability of our plant-based active ingredients.

From farming and picking to processing and integration into our products.

We work in partnership with farmers, agronomists and local authorities.

Natural and organic ingredients

Natural and organic ingredients

Ever since we started, we've always chosen the best plant ingredients, preferably organic, while ensuring the safety of our products with a strict formulation charter.

The fight against waste

The fight against waste

We process avocados that would normally go to waste to create cosmetic active ingredients for our products. The entire avocado (including the pit) is transformed into oil and powder from which we obtain our avocado Perseose® that can be found in our products.

Composition and production

Green extraction processes

Green extraction processes

We use specific technologies that respect people and our planet: molecular distillation (an environmentally friendly process that separates and concentrates premium oil components) and biotechnologies such as enzymatic engineering, a substitute for chemical substances.

Downsizing water and energy consumption

Downsizing water and energy consumption

Since 2018, we have reduced our electricity consumption by 17.1%, gas by 23.1% and water by 20.8% for every 100 units produced.

Green energy

Green energy

Since 2018, we have purchased 100% green electricity from renewable energy sources (wind, water, etc.) for our production site in France. For 100% of the electricity used by our Expanscience production site, 100% of French renewable electricity is introduced into the network.

Packaging and distribution

Eco-designed products

Eco-designed products

Our products are eco-designed throughout their lifecycle. Our bottles and cardboard boxes are recyclable, the weight of our packaging has been minimised and instructions have been removed. Where we do use cardboard boxes, they are made from sustainably sourced paperboard and printed with vegetable oil-based inks.

Experimenting bulk

Experimenting bulk

We are currently experimenting with bulk sales, i.e. the sale of non-pre-packaged products. The idea is to take the eco-design of our products one step further, especially our packaging, which is being reduced.
Bulk, a green distribution method, is part of a circular economy approach and offers an alternative to plastic bottles.

Route optimization

Route optimization

The GEODIS warehouse is located less than 800 meters from our factory (ISO140001 certified - an environmental management standard).

Our eco-design policy

-142 tons

of plastic used in our packaging since 2010

-65 tons
